Once a day for the past 7-8 years I have drank a super healthy smoothie. My smoothie is filled with superfoods and nutrients and then I add in more including most of these foods below.

Dark Leafy greens.
I always add in a few cups of spinach or kale to my smoothies. I eat greens every day, but I do try my best to mix it up: You can do romaine, arugula, red leaf lettuce, kale, spinach. It’s important to eat a variety of greens to get the full spectrum of nutrients. Greens are one of the most important foods that we require: everything from minerals to fiber to chlorophyll. Green’s antioxidant vitamins, brain and cellular support properties all contribute to healthy-aging, making them an excellent daily choice.

2. Chia seeds/ Flax seeds
I like to add one or both to my smoothie as well. You could also do a chia seed pudding and use your flax seeds in recipes that call for eggs. I always make flax eggs instead of using eggs. Its so simple. One tbsp of ground flaxseed and 3 tbsp of water- 1 egg. These are full of fiber, which helps with digestive support. And, although it is not a complete protein alone, seeds deliver many important amino acids. Flax seeds contain significantly more manganese, copper and potassium. Chia seeds contain slightly fewer calories and more fiber. They also contain 1.5–2 times more of the bone-strengthening minerals calcium and phosphorus, as well as slightly more iron. Both of them are very nutritious so once again, variety is key.

3. Avocado
We go through Avocado so fast in this house! I like to call avocado, natures butter. Avocados are full of good fats that help promote health and increase the bioavailability of fat-soluble vitamins and phytochemicals. They have more potassium than a banana and are loaded with fiber. Eating Avocados can lower your cholesterol and Triglyceride Levels. Avocados are so healthy and taste so good! I add a little sea salt and olive oil to mine if I eat it plain. You can even add hot sauce. There are so many ways to eat avocado.

4. Almonds
For about 4 years I religiously would eat almonds every single day when I woke up with my coffee. It was totally my thing. I love nuts and almonds are one of my favorites. Almonds contain lots of healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. The health benefits of almonds include lower blood sugar levels, reduced blood pressure and can lower your cholesterol levels. They can also reduce hunger and promote weight loss, whoooooo!

5. Apples
Do not catch the "fruit is bad" bug because it has sugar in it. Fruit is not bad for you! Fruit is so nutritious. Fruits are naturally low in fat, sodium, and calories. None have cholesterol. Fruits are sources of many essential nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C and folate! They are also loaded with fiber as most plants are. Apples are often called a "miracle food" and a "nutritional powerhouse," an apple a day really may keep the doctor away as they're one of the healthiest foods a person can eat!
